Beaches

La Jolla beaches offer endless hours of fun and relaxation. From the sandstone cliffs a short walk from our hotel to the crystal clear water at La Jolla Cove, there is no denying San Diego is a premiere beach location.

La Jolla Shores, a favorite of families, offers a wide sandy beach, gentle surf and a playground for children.

La Jolla Children's Pool, a resting spot for California Sea Lions, is a tourist favorite offering wildlife viewing and great photo opportunities.

La Jolla Cove, located in the heart of downtown La Jolla, is sheltered by picturesque cliffs and offers stunning views of the Pacific. It has a small beach, normally gently waves and is a divers paradise.

Torrey Pines State Beach is known for its Torrey Pines and its 300 foot sandstone bluffs. Hiking trails run throughout the park take visitors past the rare torrey pines, wildflowers, and panoramic views of the Pacific.

Blacks Beach is well known for two things: one of the best surf breaks in the world and the only nude-beach in San Diego. Blacks Beach can be found by walking North from La Jolla Shores Beach (approximately 1 mile) or walking South from Torrey Pines State Beach (approximately ½ mile).
